Story
Lea, Kay, Josh and Tom will be lacing up their boots and taking on the National Three Peaks Challenge on Sunday 25 June 2023.
We'll be attempting to summit Ben Nevis (4409 ft), Scaffel Pike (3209 ft) and Snowdon (3560 ft) - the highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales - in just 24 hours to raise money for Rethink Mental Illness, a cause very close to our hearts.
Setting off bright and early on Sunday, we'll be hiking through the night to the finish line on Monday morning. This tough challenge will see us ascend more than 3000m over a total 26 mile distance, not to mention travelling nearly 460 miles between the peaks - big thanks to our designated driver, Paul! Training is well underway and we've been putting in the hard miles to give us the best chance of completing the treks within the 24 hour time limit.
Our Three Peaks Challenge adventure is in loving memory of Denise Donovan (Kay and Lea's mum). Everyone who was lucky enough to know Denise would tell you how incredibly kind, caring and funny she was, with an infectious smile and cheeky spirit. Denise is missed every single day and we hope any money raised from this challenge will help support and improve the lives of others living with mental illness.
That's why we've chosen to support Rethink Mental Illness. This charity put people experiencing mental illness, and those who care for them, at the heart of everything they do. Rethink provide expert advice, information and mental health training, as well as delivering more than 200 vital mental health services across England, including:
- Local support groups
- Crisis and supported housing
- Helplines
- Psychological therapies
- Carer provision
On top of this, Rethink Mental Illness campaign on a national and local level to raise awareness of mental health issues and secure important change.
We know times are tough for many at the moment but if you can spare a couple of pounds to support us on our challenge, we'd be really grateful.
Let's do this!
With love,
Kay, Lea, Josh and Tom x
