Story
I personally have a deep, longstanding love of the public library. From story time when I was little, to checking out as many books as my arms could handle when I was a teenager, to holding five library cards and always maxing out my checked out books as an adult, there hasn't been a time in my life where I haven't benefitted from the public library. The Boston Public Library (BPL) is such an amazing institution that enriches the community in innumerable ways. It's not just its seemingly endless collections, but it's also the educational programming, the concerts, the exhibitions, and the fact that it exists as a safe, warm, welcoming space that make it so great.
Now more than ever, it's so essential that public libraries are utilized and properly funded. I'm excited to be part of the Boston Public Library Fund Emerging Leaders program, and hope you will consider donating. In 2024, your donations delivered more than $75,000 to the 25 branches of BPL and funded 29 new and innovative programs. This year, we are working towards an ambitious goal of raising $100,000 in essential funding to ensure that the BPL continues to thrive and meet the growing needs of our patrons. We hope you will show your support during National Library Week to help us achieve this goal.
With your generous contribution, you’re helping to ensure that the Boston Public Library remains a cornerstone of learning, creativity, and connection for everyone who walks through its doors.
