The two causes that the Mayor of Greenwich has chosen to support this year are very close to my heart.

1) My Dad sadly passed away in April after an excruciating battle with dementia. The Greenwich and Bexley Hospice Dementia Support Group offers vital support to dementia sufferers and their loved ones. I am running in memory of him.

2) As a Mum of two small boys, I know how important support for parents is in those early years. Home-Start Greenwich does an excellent job of supporting families and children, from breastfeeding support, to playgroups; from advice on weaning and health eating, to Dad-only Groups, this vital local service helps hundreds of families.

This is a big challenge for me, as I stopped regular running when I was pregnant with my eldest six years ago. Two children (and 2 c-sections!) later - it's like I'm starting my running journey from scratch (with far less time to train ...) So I would really appreciate any support you can give.
