Story
I am riding in the Magonlia Cup on the 1st of August and I am terrified!!!!
Please make my pain justified by support the incredible work at My Sisters’ House. Their motto is “helping women to thrive, not just survive”; As someone who has lived those feeling, it means the world that we can help give women their power back and support them in their journey to recovery in any small way we can.
Why have I entered this race?
I have my lovely manager from ITV Racing, Jack, to thank for that!!!!
How have I found the training so far?
Brutal!!!! Before starting, I had as much upper body strength as a pringle and my fitness journey extended to getting a Blue Peter badge at 12years old. I now work out with a PT once a week, go to spin classes and ride regularly. Most notably for the race, I had NEVER ridden a racehorse in training!! I cannot thank the Ben Brookhouse team enough for their support, time and most importantly, patience. I can successfully now say I can gallop and school a racehorse.
Supporting My Sisters' House
What an incredible charity! It’s somewhere you hope no one would need to use but so vital in supporting women going through the toughest and most turbulent times of their lives. They support any self-identifying woman to improve their welfare and wellbeing, reducing their risk of domestic abuse and supporting recovery. Due to the nature of government grants, it’s vital that individuals fund raise to keep their work going. Recent research found that only 1.8% of grants that go to charities were awarded to those supporting women and girls, and only two thirds of grants for women and girls-focussed activity were awarded to specialists like My Sisters’ House (Rosa, 2023)!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you to everyone for their support, ya gal needs it 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶
