Story
At the end of March, our amazing colleague, friend and all round force of nature Sue, was suddenly taken ill and went into cardiac arrest.
The universe was on her side as Bonnie (one of our swimmers) proved that not all heroes wear capes and was able to immediately start CPR. Bonnie along with lots of amazing HCC employees and health professionals saved Sue's life, something we are eternally grateful for.
We are doing this swim to thank BHF for their CPR training, amazing medical equipment and ground breaking research.
Our swimmers are Bonnie, Donna, Katie and Lauren and we would appreciate any contributions you can make to this amazing cause. Additionally if you would like to come and cheer us on, on the day that would be amazing too!
None of us are serious swimmers and there is without a doubt some apprehension of jumping in the sea but Sue is someone we all know as fearless and full of life so we will all be channeling her spirit and amazing cackle as we take the leap!
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like you that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps so please give what you can to help us hit our target. Thanks!
