Thanks for taking the time to visit our Just Giving page.
Beginning September 2023 we embarked on a 50 Mountain Challenge in memory of my Dad, Graham Rattray (seen in the photo) and other family members and friends we have lost to cancer.
Thanks to ongoing scientific research many of our family and friends have received lifesaving treatment. Like many other families we also have relatives who are currently undergoing treatment and we want to show our support to them, the amazing people treating them and to the continued work of Cancer Research UK to save more lives.
To raise funds we are aiming to climb 50 Mountains by 14th February 2024. This includes 48 Munros across Scotland, a number which will see me "Compleat" and finish my round of 282 Munros.
On the 2nd February 2024 we will be heading to Tanzania where we will aim to climb Mount Meru (4,566 m) and then Mount Kilimanjaro (5,885m) by the Umbwe Route.
All being well we hope to stand on the summit of Kilimanjaro like my dad did in the 1960’s when he first arrived to live and work in Africa. It would be a fitting end to our challenge.
We hope you’ll follow us on our journey over the coming months and would appreciate any donation to Cancer Research UK.
Thanks for your support!
Lauren and Frank
