Story
We both are running the London Marathon 2025 for Muscular Dystrophy UK. This charity means a great deal to us and our family as Lauren's Dad has Limb Girdle 2i MD. Dad is quite honestly the most inspirational man I have ever known. He found out that he has the condition during secondary school. Everything he had ever known changed within a hospital appointment. I can't even begin to imagine how that would affect someone at such a young age. Anyone who knows Dad will know how much he can struggle at times with his disability. Going from walking sticks to a wheelchair was a really hard time for Dad mentally. Overtime, the condition will worsen for Dad and he will be become permanently wheelchair bound. The truth is we don't know just how much this muscle wasting condition will progress in Dad, we don't know what the future will hold or look like. This is why we are running for MD UK so they can continue the research into this condition and support those living with this disability. The pride I feel for my Dad battling this condition is something I can't even put into words. He is the best Dad we could ever wish for. This is for you Dad.
Muscular Dystrophy UK is the charity for the 110,000 children and adults living with muscle-wasting conditions in the UK. There's currently no cure, and its many cases, it limits lives. MDUK do vital work in funding pioneering research into treatments and cures as well as providing vital information, advice, resources and support for individuals and families living with these conditions.
All donations, big or small, are greatly appreciated. Thank you!
