Story

I've joined #teamHospice for this year's Moy Park Belfast City Marathon and help support local people living with life-limiting illnesses and their families.

My dear friend Carol Devine passed away in the hospice on the 19th of January this year. The hospice itself and everyone there are all incredible people the doctors, consultants, nurses and volunteers only know how to put the patient and their family before everything else. There care and compassion and there support to families goes above and beyond and made our final month's with Carol most memorable. The staff were able to arrange some truly magical moments for Carol. We shared some very special moments that will stay with me and Carol's family forever. The staff do an amazing job and we can't thank them enough.

Starting at Stormont Estate, this year's Marathon route covers all areas of the city, taking in a number of iconic landmarks with plenty of enthusiastic support from local residents.

By taking part in this year's marathon in support of Hospice, I'll be ensuring hospice can continue to deliver our specialist palliative care to local people in your community when they need us most.
