Lauren's fundraiser for Stroke Association

Our beautiful daughter Anna suffered a perinatal stroke either before, during or after birth! Not knowing when and why has been really hard to accept. Being told your new born baby has had a stroke has been an extremely traumatic experience for our family with so much unknown for Annas development & us as a family learning and understanding how to help Anna thrive! However we wouldn’t change a thing as Anna is the most amazing, resilient, strong & happy baby I’ve ever met & has completed our family perfectly.
The stroke association has been so helpful to our family with help & support - so I want to do this challenge with Anna everyday in May to say thank you 🤍
A perinatal stroke is very rare but babies can have a stroke in the womb or just after birth. It’s not always possible to find out what caused a baby’s stroke. It can even happen to babies who are otherwise healthy and born after a normal pregnancy and delivery.
When stroke strikes, part of your brain shuts down. And so does a part of you. Life changes instantly and recovery is tough. But the brain can adapt. Our specialist support, research and campaigning are only possible with the courage and determination of the stroke community. With more donations and support from you, we can rebuild even more lives.
