Story

My name is Laura Macy, a dancer and choreographer dedicated to using my art to promote mental health awareness.

Inspired by Nicolina Bezzo's song "Way Out" (Nicolina was a top-five finalist on American Idol in 2022), I founded the 'Way Out Movement.' The song's poignant depiction of mental health struggles motivated me to create a music video featuring local dancers and choirs. With Nicolina’s permission, and the support of a passionate team, we brought this project to life, collaborating with numerous local businesses and services.

We premiered the music video at a special event, at the iconic Bombed Out Church in Liverpool, donating a portion of the ticket sales to the Mental Health Foundation. We believe many more people would love to support the vital work of this incredible charity.

Your donations to this fundraiser would be greatly appreciated.

For mental health advice or care, please consult your GP first. In urgent situations, call 999 or visit A&E and ask for the nearest crisis resolution team. The Mental Health Foundation believe no-one living in the UK should be deprived of the opportunity for good mental health because of who they are, the community they come from or where they live. We’re developing better ways to support good mental health in every community.
