On 5 May, I'm proud to be running the 5k MK Rocket Run to raise vital money for UnityMK which is a fantastic local Milton Keynes charity offering practical and emotional support for those experiencing homelessness or who are at crisis point.

Their Winter Night Shelter service operates during the coldest months of the year and is a lifeline for many who would otherwise be sleeping rough offering 15-beds and providing guests with an evening meal, company, and a warm, dry place to sleep.

In addition they also offer practical help including food and drink, clothing, sleeping bags, access to showers, laundry facilities, laptops as well as administrative help to access ID, along with benefits advice and support to find accommodation, housing referrals and employment opportunities.

Mental health needs, the breakdown of a relationship, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol addiction, bereavement, losing your job, and financial problems can all contribute to making households at risk of homelessness and whatever your background or circumstances UnityMK are available help.

Any funds raised by me will be matched by my employer, to support this great cause.
