On 15th–18th May 2024 this year, Simon Harratt, Steve Lee, Darren Turner and Laura Price will be representing Goodman to cycle 330km over 3 days from Leitrim to Killarney to raise money for the Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity. We will be cycling with over 60 riders from the Glencar team and their supply chain and providing support for each other along the way.

Glencar are aiming to raise £200,000 from the challenge and every km cycled, and every pound raised will help to ensure that The Lighthouse Club can be there for construction workers and their families in their time of need.

The Construction team at Goodman would like to do as much as possible to help Glencar achieve this target and therefore ask for your generosity with sponsorship….any help is appreciated, however big or small.

The Lighthouse Construction Industry Charity has been delivering charitable welfare and support to the construction community since 1956 and is the only charity in the UK to provide financial and emotional support to construction workers.

Lighthouse offers a 24/7 Construction Industry Helpline which provides free and confidential support and advice on a huge variety of wellbeing issues. The expert helpline advisors provide a listening ear and are able to signpost to additional support where necessary. Many callers present complex issues that need multiple interventions, and these are managed by their caseworkers. The caseworkers specialise in providing holistic support and work with third party organisations to ensure that callers get the support they need to access all of the possible help available.

Their text ‘HARDHAT’ service meets the needs of those who feel uncomfortable speaking with someone on the telephone or maybe find it difficult to find a place and time to talk. The text HARDHAT service provides immediate one-to-one support on a huge range of wellbeing issues and can signpost to further specialist support if required.
