Welcome to Laura's mission to raise awareness, support, funds for research and hopes for a cure for everyone with mitochondrial disease. Laura tragically died from mito in June '21 but her mission continues, honouring her courage & beautiful spirit.

Story

Sam lost his sister Laura to mitochondrial disease when she was just 24, in 2021. He is running this marathon to raise funds and awareness for mito, in memory of Laura.

Mitochondrial disease - mito for short - is a debilitating and cruel illness affecting energy production. Our missions are run by affected families who want to raise awareness, research and hopes for a cure. Whether you help the charity as a whole, or an individual mission - it's the same great cause.

More research into mito could be the key to unlocking many other illnesses too. MILLIONS in the UK have conditions which also involve mitochondrial damage - diabetes, MS, sepsis, stroke, some cancers & many more.

Thank you for your support.
