This year I am taking on the 20 mile Edinburgh Kiltwalk on Sunday 15th September in remembrance of my fantastic dad who unfortunately died of suicide last February. I am walking in aid of the YESS Charity (Your Emotional Support Services) which is a local charity where I originate from in Uttoxeter, Staffordshire. I lost my mum suddenly to pneumonia and sepsis after a failed kidney transplant in 2018, she was the love of his life and he never recovered from the loss. After covid hit and the loss of my wonderful mum he became anxious and depressed and took the hard decision to end his life. I was shocked and saddened that he didn't reach out for help sooner even though we tried so hard to get him help.

Your Emotional Support Service (YESS) is a mental health and well-being charity based in Uttoxeter and operating throughout the Midlands including Staffordshire, Shropshire, Leicestershire, Derbyshire, South Cheshire and the West Midlands county.

Their fabulous group of counsellors and well-being practitioners provide emotional support and opportunities for people of all ages; children, young people and adults. Their therapy team is made up of art therapists, person-centred counsellors and dance movement therapists.

Any donation how big or small would help local people not to get to a place that my dad got to and is quite important to me after his passing. Whilst I appreciate I live in Scotland, Uttoxeter is a place I grew up in with many important friends and family members still living there.
