I will running the Barcelona Marathon on the 10th March 2024 in memory of my friend Alice Johnson. I have made it my aim to raise money for Big C every year. Alice lived with cancer for most of her life but never let that stop her from living her life to the full. She had an incredible skill with a sewing needle and loved animals, often taking detors home to try and find her favourite cat. Sadly, Alice passed away on the 12th July 2022 at the age of 24 with friends and family beside her.

I asked Alice what charity she would like me to raise money for and she said Big C. They supported Alice and her family a lot and I would like to make sure that their hard work can still continue for years to come. Below is some information about the charity. Even though Alice isn't here anymore I thank her everyday for making me stop and see the beauty in the world. Thank you, Laura xx

Remembering Alice

Big C, established in Norfolk in 1980, is your local cancer charity. Through support, research, equipment and education, they make a difference to the lives of local people affected by cancer. Big C currently has four Cancer Support & Information centres across Norfolk with a new Norwich Centre being built to open in summer 2023. The charity also provides support by telephone and online. The Centres are used by thousands of people affected by cancer with trained staff providing emotional help, support and complementary therapies.
