Story
Shockingly, in the UK alone, one doctor dies by suicide every three weeks, and one nurse every week. These numbers underpin the urgent need for mental health resources and support within the healthcare community.
Because of the unfortunate stigma still attached to mental health problems it can be particularly difficult for us to seek this help from our own colleagues when we need it.
Doctors in Distress provide initiatives to promote and protect the mental health of all health workers through a range of free programmes. This is why I'm taking part in #5KInMay, to run, walk, cycle and/or swim at least 5k every day in May to help them be able to continue this vital support.
Your support for this much appreciated-thank you!
