Story

Whilst I haven't personally been involved closely with Hope House, I have felt personally touched by Caroline and Roger's story and for a long time felt in awe of their achievements.

My Dad was President of the Bridgnorth Lions at the time that Hope House opened its doors, and throughout the year of his presidency and beyond my Mum and Dad supported their works. I recall hearing Caroline speak at the time about how the charity had come about and being moved to tears then, and still now nearly 30 years later at the memory of it.

My reason for supporting them now is that they were a charity that Mum really resonated with and felt a personal bond. As a school teacher my Mum dedicated her life to helping children, and personally her and my Dad suffered the tragic loss of my older brother Richard in 1984.

Growing up we discussed Richard as the member of family he was, they didn't treat infant death as something that should not be discussed like many of that generation, and only now do I realise how progressive they were in this.

In supporting Hope House I hope to honour my Mum's lifetime working with children, to acknowledge my parents own personal tragedy and also to hopefully raise some much needed funds to support other parents going through situations that truly feel unimaginable.
