Story
Elaine is my friend… and Leila’s friends mum…
She has early dementia and is not in a good way right now at the age of 52!
This can happen to any of us at any time…
My grandad did not know me when I gave him the news of his first grandchild. I remember the day I told him very well. Heartbreaking.
I have thought long and hard as to whether I should do this walk (my hip is not great) but I am able to walk and mind (!!) over matter and all that… 🤷♀️
Dementia is the UKs biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and currently there is no cure. We know it is scary but we must confront the biggest health & social care challenge of our time. We owe it to the 900,000 people across the UK currently living with dementia to campaign for change, whilst providing vital day-to-day support. By taking part and raising money, or donating to someone who is, you are helping to do this.
Once you donate, JustGiving sends your money directly to Alzheimer's Society you dont need to do anything and it's the most efficient way to fundraise. So, who will you walk for? #MemoryWalk
