Story
I'm stepping out for the Macular Society to Beat Macular Disease.
I am aiming to walk 9504 steps per day, for 20 days over August because I want to 'walk' from Stoke on Trent to Gloucester which is 90 Miles.
Macular disease is the biggest cause of sight loss in the UK, with around 300 people diagnosed every day.
It steals your sight, your confidence, and your ability to do the things you love.
My central vision went black in my right eye when I was 19 due to PIC (Punctate Inner Choroidopathy) but thanks to Gloucestershire hospitals I was able to stop the bleeding, preventing any further damage.
I regained the colour in my sight, and although I have scarring, I am thankful my eye sight is currently stable. I had a small flare when I was 28 and it is likely I will lose more of my sight as will so many others.
Thank you for your support. Let's Beat Macular Disease together.
