Story
My partner and I have decided to hike the South Downs Way in August to raise money for a cause that works incredibly hard to help protect our coastlines from plastic.
The Final Straw Foundation, based in Emsworth on the South Coast are passionate about ocean health, reducing the reliance on single-use plastic and educating children so that they and we can make the world a cleaner and healthier place. The money raised will go to the the Final Straw in order to purchase more equipment for beach cleans and to facilitate reaching out to more schools for the education process.
The Final Straw Foundation desperately needs more litter-picking kits to run their organised beach and countryside clean-ups. Can you help them by donating to their campaign to purchase many more litter-pickers, gloves (adult and kids size),reusable bags and more necessary items for their beach cleans.
About the South Downs Way, did you know that it was approved as a National Trail in March 1963 and officially opened in 1972. It was also the first bridleway National Trail in England. Historically, the route ran from Buriton to Beachy Head, but was later extended into Hampshire down to Winchester. The South Downs Way lies entirely within a National Park and is England's newest National Park.
Starts in Winchester and Ends in Eastbourne, 100 miles (160 km)

It takes most people 8 days to complete it.We will be aiming to complete it in 6 days, 7 days max , whilst carrying all our camping gear, food along the way. We will be trying our best to keep this page up todate with our training, preparing before hand and the actual hike itself.
