Story
Phill and I first heard of the Pacific Crest Trail nearly a decade ago and we'll be taking our first steps on this epic 2,650 mile trail in April.
Spanning from the Mexican border to the Canadian border the trail passes through California, Oregan and Washington. It traverses desert, mountains and forests with expected temperatures ranging from +40 to -10 at different points on the trail.
We're so excited (and just a little bit nervous) to spend 6 months experiencing this incredible landscape on foot together, taking everything we need to survive on our backs along the way.
The "why" behind our decision to do this trail boils down to the fact that we just love hiking. Whether or not we still love it after 2,500+ miles remains to be seen! One of the reasons we love backpacking in the great outdoors is that being in nature provides some respite to Phill's tinnitus. Listening to the noise of the wind or rain on canvas in our tent at night provides a distraction to the constant, loud and intrusive noise in his head. If we could raise some money whilst doing what we love (and even inspire others to follow their dreams, whatever they may be) that'd be amazing. Should you wish to donate as a way to show your support we would very much appreciate donations directed to Tinnitus UK who provide essential support to people in the UK affected by tinnitus.
Could you help us raise the length of the trail in pounds?
