Story
Landon was a firecracker of a little boy with a heart of gold. He was compassionate and kind. He could light up a room with his beautiful smile and hilarious personality. He could also be an epic sourpuss and out grump the grumpiest old man out there. He’d tell anyone what for. He was truly a bright light in this world and we miss him so much. Childhood cancer took him from us at only 10 years old. Landon fought for two years before laying down his sword. One thing he consistently talked about through his battle was his wish that no kid would ever have cancer. It was never “I wish I didn’t have cancer” it was always “I wish NO KID EVER had cancer”. He wanted to grow up and become a researcher to help find cures. This is why we flutter. We have to keep fighting for him when he no longer can. We have to fight for a world where no kid ever has cancer, a world where no parent has to watch their child fade away and die because of this horrible disease. This is why we flutter.
We are Fluttering this year to raise awareness about childhood cancer, and to help fund pediatric cancer research. Fluttering will be going on for the entire month of September, so please help us continue this chain of community awareness!
Unravel is a 501(c)3 nonprofit working to bridge the gap in funding for pediatric cancer research. With the help of warrior families and their communities, Unravel raises awareness of the need for this research and the funds to support it.
Unlike the typical grant funding model, Unravel gives unrestricted funds to innovative pediatric cancer researchers, which removes barriers and accelerates the development of more effective and less toxic treatments for children with cancer.
