Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
March is Endometriosis Action Month and since I am not equipped to walk/run/cycle impressive distances, I’ve decided to raise money in the only way I know how.. making a fool of myself. Throughout March I will be dancing in public to fundraise as part of the 1in10 challenge, highlighting that 1in10 uterus bearers are affected by endometriosis.
Endometriosis is a painful and chronic illness caused by cells that are similar to the uterus lining implanting themselves elsewhere in the body. These cells behave like cells in the uterus and bleed in line with the uterus’s cycle. This internal bleeding can cause pain, fatigue, infertility and painful bowel and bladder movements.
With no known cause or cure, it currently takes an average of 8 years to diagnose this condition due to misdiagnosis and lack of attention and awareness.
Treatment and diagnosis could be made much simpler and more effective with adequate funding for research, care and support.
Endometriosis UK help thousands of people living with this condition daily and have personally changed my life. I would like to give back to them for everything they have given me, so that they may continue to support others and campaign for change.
