Story

I’m lucky enough to be running for Spinal Research in the 2024 London Marathon. I wanted to run for this charity to raise awareness of their incredible work and also raise funds as a means of being able to do something for those affected by spinal cord injuries. For those who don’t know, our amazing bootcamp instructor was in a terrible car accident in January 2023, and is currently rehabilitating in Sheffield at a specialist spinal injury centre. She is never far from our thoughts and we are so grateful to all those supporting her recovery. This is for her.

Spinal Research is the UK’s leading charity funding medical research around the world to develop effective treatments for paralysis caused by spinal cord injury. Every year 1,000 people in the UK and Ireland are paralysed following an injury to their spinal cord.

Spinal Research receive no government funding and rely entirely on the support of the public to raise funds. It’s through the efforts of supporters, Spinal Research have funded innovative medical research, has achieved a number of ground breaking changes in the field.
