Story

I am honored to serve on the Board of Communities In Schools (CIS) and I'm passionate about its mission: to ensure that all kids - regardless of their income or circumstances in life - have the resources and support they need to achieve their full potential.

I recall growing up with a network of support and caring adults that were committed to my success. For many students in CMS, they do not have this same community of support. This is where CIS plays a crucial role in helping to "level the playing field" for students who are historically underserved, particularly in Charlotte's Title I/high need schools. CIS places caring adults - our "Site Coordinators" - in 56 CMS high poverty schools, to work directly with students and parents, connecting them to a range of resources, from basic needs to college and career prep, mental health supports, and more.

Thank you for supporting my goal to raise $10,000 to support CIS and kids all across Charlotte. THANK YOU for being #AllinforKids!
