Louise: L2MU Community Connector

I feel incredibly fortunate to work as a Community Connector for Luv2MeetU; a charity which empowers neurodivergent individuals to achieve their goals, acquire new skills and cultivate meaningful relationships in a safe and inclusive environment. When Harry, one of our members, approached me with the idea of taking on the world’s fastest zip wire to fundraise for the group, I was thrilled to help him set about achieving this. It's wonderful that we are able to facilitate this experience for Harry, Aidan, Ben and Andrew, whilst raising vital funds to support future life enriching activities.

The positive impact L2MU has made on my life is unbelievable as I have made really great friends and taken part in some amazing activities with them. I have grown within my social skills, independence and my personal confidence. This group provides me with a much-needed social lifeline which is away from my family and support workers. My wellbeing has improved, and I feel safe and included in all activities. I'm raising money to highlight this group for others to join, and to help future activities and sustainability.

I feel lucky to be a part of this group, where I've not only found some amazing friends but explored many new experiences. I’ve always wanted to try something like this, and can’t wait for the challenge ahead! I hope we can raise lots of money for Luv2MeetU, to help with organizing adventures for all of us in the future.

Being a member of Luv2MeetU for 8 years has allowed me to connect with amazing new people, and I’ve even introduced my housemates to the service. As I can drive, I knew it would be helpful for me to support others in getting to Penrhyn Slate Quarry– I’m looking forward to the road trip with my friends! I hope our challenge raises awareness of the group, so more people can join and enjoy the brilliant opportunities it offers.
