Story
The war in Ukraine poses extreme risks to civilians, in particular to women and children. More than 2.5 million people have been displaced by the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Federation. This figure could rise to as many as 4 million. Among these are around 80,000 women expected to give birth in the next three months.
In partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and NGOs working in Ukraine and Poland, FIGO is raising funds to support the essential health care needs of pregnant women affected by the conflict.
All donation will go towards the purchase of emergency medical supplies and care packages that will be sent to Ukraine and surrounding countries.
As little as $14 will purchase a dignity kit, containing items such as underwear, toothbrushes and detergent. $250 will purchase a midwifery kit to aid with childbirth. $2,000 will provide equipment for up to 200 safe births.
We are very privileged in the Uk with the resources we have to enable safe pregnancies and births and would like to help those women in Ukraine who do not have this due to the ongoing conflict. Any support would go a long way. Thank you!
