Event: Peak District Mighty Hike 2024 - half marathon, on 20 July 2024
In July 2024, we're hiking a half or full marathon through the beautiful and dramatic Peak District National Park to raise vital funds for people living with cancer.

Story

Tez and I are joining our dear friend Mick Christian, and other pals, to remember his lovely wife Kay.

In February 2022, Kay was diagnosed with Lung Cancer. What followed was 20 months of treatments, home care, hospital admissions, many highs, and many lows for them both.

If love was enough to keep someone alive, Kay would still be with us now but she sadly passed away in November 2023.

This will not just be a physical challenge, but also a mental one as we all come to terms with losing a beautiful person inside and out. We are sure many stories will be shared and no doubt tears along the way.

Tez and I have pledged to raise £250 each and would appreciate any support in reaching this which will then be added to Mick’s overall total. By fundraising my pledge, I could pay for a Macmillan Support Worker for two days who could provide emotional, practical and financial advice to someone affected by cancer.
