Story
I love swimming, I swim outdoors everyday and I am always trying to find new swimming experiences. I swam an ice mile (1608m in water 5C or colder) in Jan 2022 and met some other swimmers who had completed the English Channel. I was inspired by these swimmers. A few weeks later, I had a place on an English Channel relay for 2022 and an English Channel Solo swim for Sept 2024. Two and a half years later, after a roller coaster of emotions and endless hours pool training, my English Channel attempt is almost here!
I am fundraising for the charity I work for SafeLives, where I work as the Young Person's Authentic Voice Coordinator. SafeLives is a UK charity dedicated to ending domestic abuse, for good. No one should live in fear. It is not acceptable, not inevitable, and with your help we can make it stop. Every year, over two million people in the UK experience domestic abuse. Not one of them should have to wait until they're in crisis before we pay attention. At SafeLives we believe that domestic abuse can be stopped. Stopped before it starts. Stopped before it ruins lives. Your donation will help us change lives and make families across the UK safe and well - thank you! I love working for SafeLives and I am so proud of the work we do. I hope you will support us.
This is a huge marathon swim from a beach in Dover to somewhere in France, roughly 21 miles. I have been training for the swim for over two years now, I have had to relearn front crawl, over come sea sickness (on one swim I was followed by sea gulls wanting to eat my sick!) and have been stung by lots of jellyfish whilst training. The swim will take place at some point around the 10th -15th September 2024
Thank you for your support.
Much love xxx
