I am running the Edinburgh Marathon in memory of Philip Barker.

Philip was a wonderful man with a brilliant sense of humour. He could turn a bad day good with just a few witty words and fill a dance floor within minutes. He was and always will be much loved by his family and friends and is sorely missed.

Unfortunately, Philip passed away in September 2023 after a battle with cancer. During his last few weeks, he was cared for by the incredible staff and volunteers at Forest Holme Hospice in Poole. They looked after him day and night with great dedication to both him and his family. The staff there are absolute superheroes and I would like to raise some money for this amazing organisation in Philip’s memory.

Philip wasn’t a runner and my girlfriend assures me that he would think me crazy for signing up for a marathon, but if Philip taught me anything, it’s that a little bit of crazy never hurt anyone! You can keep up to date with my training here: https://instagram.com/kshmarathon24
