Our mom, Susan aka Mama T, was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2009. She underwent hundreds (no seriously hundreds) of surgeries and procedures in order to potentially extend her life. After one of her bigger surgeries, (a colostomy bag and gi tube), she said she needed to go to bikini shopping to scare all the kids at the beach. Although she was able to make it an extra 4 years past her “timeline”, she passed away in November 2012. Mama T would have been 62 this September and every year without her has different challenges. My merry tribe of dogs and I will be walking 30+ miles in September to help raise money to fund cancer research, support, and advocacy.
