Story
I am taking part in the 100 challenge to be a part of Change Mental Health mission of building a future where no one needs to face mental illness alone.
From 17th July, I’ll be hiking through the most iconic landscapes of Iceland with my tent and all equipment on my back. With 20kg in my backpack, I’ll walk over 100km through old lava fields, glaciers, rivers and hills.
I have never done a hike like that, not to mention carrying all I need on my back! But why do I do it?!
A year ago, I broke my leg in two places while trying to learn how to longboard. Long recovery, perseverance and loads of effort led me to the decision to challenge myself and bring unforgivable memories and views from Iceland back to Scotland. I'll walk the landscape which worked for a backdrop to The Game of Thrones, Star Wars Saga, Interstellar or The Justice League.
I had a lot of support from my friends, family and a therapist. Yet too many people are left without access to support when they need it and in the way which works best for them.
By supporting me in my preparation and challenge, Change Mental Health can change lives by helping more people across Scotland with their mental wellbeing.
Please support me by donating to my Just Giving page. I promise to do my best to provide you with many photos and videos from the journey!
