In 2024, six of our supporters will be lacing up their trainers and taking on the 26.2-mile challenge of the iconic TCS London Marathon in aid of The Countryside Alliance Foundation's flagship project; Fishing for Schools.

Story

I am honored to announce that I will be participating in the London Marathon 2024 to raise funds for The Countryside Alliance Foundation. This incredible charity is dedicated to promoting the educational and health benefits of the countryside, and I am delighted to support them. As someone who has personally experienced the positive benefits of being out in the countryside, I believe that everyone should have access to such opportunities. That's why I'm asking for your help in reaching my fundraising goal of £2,000.

The Countryside Alliance Foundation runs two amazing programs that make a real difference in people's lives.

1. Fishing for Schools provides students with learning difficulties a unique way back into formal education and learning through fishing-related activities both in the classroom and on field trips.

2. Castaway is a program that supports men and women affected by all types of cancer, helping them improve their physical and mental health through ongoing engagement with fishing and the countryside.

I am grateful for any donation, no matter how small, as it will go towards supporting these fantastic programs. Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page and for considering supporting this important cause.

About the charity

Many children and young people know little about the countryside and rural way of life. Its programme of educational initiatives will introduce them, and their teachers, to the beauty, importance and diversity of our rural heritage, inspiring them to become passionate about its future and protect it for future generations.
