If you have been following my story, you will know I am in recovery from surgery after finding a rare form of cancer (pseudomxyoma peritonei or appendix cancer). I went through a 16.5 hour operation last September to remove 9 organs (7 fully and 2 part of) which were affected and had a 6 week stay in hospital following. At 34 years old, being told you have cancer shatters your world and changes your entire life. Recovery is a long process both physically and mentally. And this is where Maggies comes in. They cancer specialists are so lovely and are there to listen and support however they can. I continue to go to support groups and I know how valuable funds are at the Dundee centre.
