Story
I work as a nurse for the Homeless Health service in Bristol. Part of my role has been providing a clinic at One 25 Drop In.
This was place where the most marginalised and vulnerable women in Bristol could come ; have access to professional support and advice around housing, criminal justice , domestic and sexual violence. Women had a hot meal, shower and had a sleep if necessary. It was sometimes the only place women felt safe to sleep.
Drop in closed yesterday due to lack of funds. Medical and support staff will continue to work alongside the women but their refuge is no longer available. I am devastated and worried about the women.
These are some of the most vulnerable women in our city.
I want action!
I want to help raise funds to get it back in its feet and ensure the other essential services One 25 offers continue.
Over the next month I will be walking/swimming and cycling 125 miles for One. 25. I would be so grateful if you could spare the cost of a cuppa to help women who struggle every day and who so deserve safety, respect and love ❤️ . Thank you xxx
I'm getting involved in My One25 Miles this July to support the work of One25.
One25 is a Bristol women' charity which reaches out to some of the city' most marginalised women. One25 support them to move from crisis and trauma towards independence in the community. Wherever they are in their journeys, we give love and practical support, without judgment or expectation.
£20 could pay for a week's Freephone service to the outreach van, giving women a direct lifeline to vital support.
£6 could stock the outreach van for a night, giving women the vital nourishment and supplies that they need.
£70 could support a woman to complete a homelessness application, supporting her to enter the homelessness pathway and get the housing support she needs.
