Story

On June 26th 2024, we were faced with the sudden and heartbreaking passing of Martin Jackson – an incredible, passionate man who co-founded Kingfisher Labels and continued to grow and improve the company over decades. Martin was funny, bubbly, and determined. When he laughed, it was hard not to join in. He truly cared about other people, from loved ones to complete strangers. Anyone who knew him was better for it and we miss him dearly.

In memory of our trusted friend, Father and Managing Director, the office staff at Kingfisher are taking on the challenge to walk from our company premises in Yate to the Bristol Royal Infirmary in the centre of Bristol. The walk is approximately 12 miles and should take just over 4 hours.

Martins chosen charity is the Bristol Heart Institute who raise funds through the Bristol & Weston Hospitals Charity, any donations made in his name are very much appreciated.

In total, it is estimated that over one million people in the UK have heart failure. There are around 200,000 new diagnoses of heart failure every year in the UK. Thanks to the fantastic service and care provided by the Bristol Heart Institute at the BRI we were able to spend another precious year with Martin.
