Story
Wear Red Day is Childrens Heart Surgery Fund's biggest fundraiser of the year. Taking place on Friday 2nd February 2024 during National Heart Month, thousands of amazing people will wear red in their communities, schools or workplaces to help save lives.
We are wanting to help raise money for children's heart surgery fund as this charity is close to our hearts.
At our 20 week scan we unfortunately found out that something was not quite right with our daughter hollies heart and resulted in her being diagnosed with not only one but two congential heart disease. As you can imagine this left mine and hollies dad devasted and ever since has been one hell of a rollercoaster.
She then went on to being born 6 weeks early and spent 6 weeks in neo natal unit in both Leeds and Doncaster. During her time in neo natal suffered 2 cardiac arrests which resulted in her having a stent fitted at just 4 weeks old.
Since then she has been admitted on to L51 at Leeds children's hospital to have her stent ballooned.
Although shes doing amazing and defying all odds. She continues to have regular check ups at the high risk clinic in Leeds while she waits to have open heart surgery this year.
During her stay in neo natal and her later hospital stay we receieved essentials, support, accommodation, meal vouchers and much more from the children's heart surgery fund.
We will continue to receive support from them this coming year as she takes on her open heart surgery and we would love to give them something back in return.
So any donations big or small would be very much appreciated.
