Story
As some of you know my 6 year old grandson has Dravet Syndrome, a very rare, life limiting form of catastrophic epilepsy. He has had many setbacks and difficulties throughout his short life, but he battles on. Ralph has learning and behavioural difficulties, and even though he is loved beyond words by us all, living with a child like him can be an enormous strain on the family.
Demelza delivers extraordinary care to extraordinary children like Ralph. They provide respite care so Ralph's parents and siblings can have much needed rest and quality time together, they help with transport to and from hospital appointments, and they come to the house at times to play with him. He loves going to Demelza, it's definitely one of his happy places (along with the beach and Toby Carvery!).
Demelza can't provide these services without money, which is why I'm doing this firewalk. Fire is my worst nightmare, and burns are one of the few things I'm squeamish about, so this may not be the best choice of fundraiser for me, but there's no point in doing it if it's too easy!
Please dig deep and donate if you can, even penny makes a difference to children like Ralph and their families.
Thank you
