Kim's fundraiser for Manx Mencap

You may have already heard of Expedition Limitless, but in case you haven’t, here is some info about the challenge for 2024 - which is all in aid of Manx Mencap.
EL24 is a 715km canoe challenge down the mighty Yukon River, Canada. Over two weeks, the team will tackle the elements, navigating dangerous waters and living in the back garden of bears, moose, eagles, wolves and plenty of rodents. This challenge is far from civilisation and the team will live in the elements, carrying their kit, food and tents in the canoes.
The carefully selected team will embark upon a journey of growth and mental resilience; pushing beyond their perceived mental and physical limits.
I have been selected to take part in the expedition, as I've lost both parents and several family members in recent years; and was a young carer for my parents through cancer, dementia and mental illness. I moved to the Isle of Man 18 months ago, for a fresh start and a better life and the Island has certainly given me that.
I’m passionate about the community here, and I am using this opportunity give something back through fundraising for Manx Mencap - a charity which supports people with learning disabilities to help them live life as they choose.
Expedition Limitless was created by MHELP; a company which enables individuals, teams, and organisations to thrive by optimising human performance. Similarly, Manx Mencap strives to empower the individuals with learning disabilities we support by creating opportunities and hosting skill building events.
Our EL24 fundraising target is a whopping £100k, and 100% of money raised goes directly to the charity.
Please consider supporting this incredible initiative and contributing to the hugely important work delivered by Manx Mencap.
