Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Those of you who know me well know that I've done a bit of swimming, well - quite a lot of swimming as it happens, and now is the time to take on "The Daddy" of challenges; swimming the English Channel. I'll be joined by 5 other fabulous swimmers and as Team Jaguar, we will be taking it in turns to negotiate the 22 miles of salty water between Dover and Calais.
I will be swimming on behalf of Aspire, who have been involved in Channel swimming since 2009, and in return for them supporting me, I will be supporting them by pledging to raise at least £1750. I'm extremely grateful to the organising team for giving me the opportunity to realise a childhood ambition.
A little bit about Aspire..
Every four hours in the UK someone is paralysed by a spinal cord injury, from which there is no cure. Aspire provide practical help, giving those with spinal injuries the potential to lead fulfilled and independent lives. Their vision is to have a world where people with spinal cord injury have equal opportunities in society. You can find out more about the great work that they do by visiting www.aspire.org.uk.
Please note that similarities with Victoria Woods' "Swimming the Channel" sketch are completely coincidental...now where's that duffel bag with my packed lunch in it??
