Story
This Just Giving Page is to raise funds for a mission team from the Church to work in Tanzania next summer (2025) in partnership with Kids4School.
The team from Kilmore are already planning their activities for the trip with Kids4School. They will spend their first week running a holiday Bible Club in Hombolo School teaching Bible stories, songs, memory verses, and organising a Sports Day. They will also have the opportunity at Hombolo school to work with children who have special needs and the team have an appropriate programme planned for the children there. The second week will see the team running a similar holiday Bible Club in NzasaB school.
Kids4School is a recognised charity set up in Northern Ireland in 2009 by Rev Tom Robinson. The Charity purchase and finance the necessary requirements to enable children in the Dodoma region of Tanzania to attend school. They work in financially deprived areas where purchasing schooling requirements is not always possible due to extreme poverty. They provide a holistic approach and support over 3000 children educationally, financially, practically and spiritually. They build water storage tanks, toilet blocks, sink bore holes, build houses, provide food parcels and so much more.’
As well as working with the two schools the team will be involved in supporting the local community. Money raised will go towards funding the trip and will enable the team to purchase food which they will distribute as food parcels and gifts for children in the local towns.
Rev Mark Spratt, minister of Kilmore Presbyterian Church said “This will be a wonderful experience for the team going to Tanzania; to share in the life of another culture. At the same time to communicate the love of the Lord Jesus, not only in words but also in action”
