Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. Myself, Nim, Ali, Jake, Sofia and Nat are all taking on the challenge of climbing Mount Kilimanjaro later this year.
Earlier this year a close family member of mine was diagnosed with prostate cancer. Through the treatment, care and research delivered by the Stokes Centre for Urology, funded by the Prostate Project, we are hopeful for a good outcome and return to normality.
To put the disease into perspective, prostate cancer claims a life every 45 minutes - 12,000 UK men every year. Hope is provided by increasing the awareness for men over the age of 50. With early diagnosis, prostate cancer is one of the most treatable cancers and any funding raised will help to ensure even more positive outcomes for men.
With that, we are asking you to donate anything that you can to sponsor us in our endeavour to raise money for the Prostate Project. The money raised will be spent on pioneering research projects, state of the art urological facilities and also new diagnostic approaches for vital earlier detection of prostate cancer. In the past few years money previously raised for this charity has directly helped to fund the construction of the shiny new Urology Centre where my relative underwent his own surgery!
Any donation no matter how big or small is extremely appreciated. We are excited to take on this challenge and are thankful for being able to support this important cause so close to our hearts.
Thank you,
Matt, Nim, Ali, Jake, Sof and Nat
