Story
My Name'5 Doddie Foundation was set up to find a cure for Motor Neuron Disease and support those who have been impacted by this horrible disease.
On 28th February 2024, a disparate group of supporters will set off on our greatest challenge yet to raise funds for this worthy cause. An epic cycle romantically titled " All roads Lead to Rome".
Cycling from Edinburgh to Rome, visiting all 6 Nations Stadiums and being received by Prince Albert in Monaco (app 3000 miles over 8 days) arriving in Rome to present the match ball before the game on 8th March.
The 20 strong team consists of retired rugby players, a smattering of athletes and elite cyclists and others like myself, for whom cycling is neither natural or pleasurable.
Our Team represent the entire MND community, our friends and families affected by this cruel disease. This fight is especially close to me having lost my mother from this disease 18 years ago as well as close friends and rugby hero's.
The My Name’5 Doddie Foundation has made huge progress since then and progress relies heavily on the fundraising efforts from all of us.
Please assist us in making a difference so that together we can make a difference and finally find a cure for this terrible disease.
