Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Five days. Four countries. One epic ride.
In September I will be cycling 292 miles, from Hastings to Amsterdam to raise money for St Michael's Hospice. Covering between 50 and 115 miles each day - this will be no mean feat.
I would be extremely grateful for every contribution to the Hospice made in support of this epic challenge - every penny will make my pedals turn smoothly, encourage the wind to be behind me and spur me onwards to the finishing line.
After the past year adjusting to a change of pace this challenge will help to mark another birthday with a zero and also combine with a return to visit to holland, where I lived and worked for a couple of years earlier in my career. Setting of from Hastings we will face the initial challenge of the South Downs hills and then catch the ferry from Dover to Dunkirk. Leaving behind the white cliffs of Dover, with a welcome break to sit down on the ferry across the channel :), and then through the cycle-friendly cities and countryside of France, Belgium and Holland, finishing in Amsterdam. We’ll cycle past beaches, along waterways, and treelined canals dotted with windmills.
St Michael's Hospice is our local hospice, supporting and enabling the community of Hastings and Rother to live well with dying, death and loss. Each year they have to raise £5.3 million to provide their services which are provided via in-patient beds and at home, in addition to Wellbeing support, both out-patient and virtual. Expert bereavement support is available for anyone struggling to come to terms with the death of a loved one.

Any amount you can give to help me get to (and beyond) my target would be hugely appreciated.
Thanks, Kevin
