Hi,
I'm Kevin Green, a 43 year old man from Worthing, West Sussex, England.
I have managed to complete 4 marathons in my time over the years but as time goes on and the bones get older i'm not sure if I've got another one in me, I have been thinking of a challenge for a while now and have come up with an idea.
On Friday 20th June 2025 at 04:00 I am going to attempt to walk the entire South downs way (100mile) continuously from Winchester to Eastbound, No sleeping, no stopping but one hell of an adventure. If successful I think this will take me approximately 36/38hrs. This will be without any shadow of doubt one of the hardest things I have ever attempted, I may not be able to complete it but I promise you I will give it everything I have. This is not an organised company event but a solo personal challenge.
There is a reason for attempting this.
A very close friend of mine Jennie was diagnosed with Breast Cancer last year at the age of 39, She is a devoted mother to Jack and Olivia, Wife to Martin and friend to many. Fortunately with an incredible attitude and desire to beat it, she fought her battle successfully, I'm very pleased to say that just before her 40th birthday she had the news that she was cancer free. This has inspired me to undertake this challenge and try to raise money for Breast Cancer UK.
Cancer has probably affected all of us in one way or another, If I can raise anything to help I would be eternally grateful, If you can spare a penny or a pound, anything would be gratefully received.
Breast Cancer is the most common cancer in the UK. Over 55,000 women and 390 men a year are diagnosed with breast cancer. Yet around a third of these cases are preventable.
Breast Cancer UK is working to prevent breast cancer through education, scientific research, collaboration and policy change.
Breast Cancer UK provides practical advice and tips on how we can reduce our risk. They campaign for changes to national health policies to support prevention, and fund research to help improve our understanding of how to stop the disease.
