Story
This will be my first Marathon and getting to raise money for a charity i truly love makes it all the more special. I will also he running London Landmarks on the 6th april to for them.
My reason for running for them is after having had my son Travis at 28 weeks and recieving a neonatal box from this lovely charity. The box itself now stores all Travis wires, notes, Tiny clothes from his time in the neonatal. Its very special to me and i often sit with Travis and show him it.
This box included a little notepad, milestone cards, clothes, bonding squares and much more. all things when having a early baby you havent prepared.
The ward itself is a hard place to be. katie and the Emily's Star team are always trying to improve this experience for neonatal parents. In times of stress these little things make such a difference.
We recieved a small portion of the great work they do so i ve included Emily's Star Mission below
To raise awareness of Trisomy 18 / Edwards Syndrome.
To support all children in Milton Keynes aged 0-25 who fall under the care of the Children with Complex needs nursing team.
To provide premature babies with clothing, bonding aids & more via boxes & mini packs across the UK.
Truly grateful for all your support
