Fundraising for Sarcoma UK
Thank you for visiting my page. I've chosen to run the 2025 London Marathon for Sarcoma UK, a charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this.
Dad was diagnosed Around 2007 Synovial Sarcoma. Each year in the Uk less then 80 people are diagnosed with this particular type of Sarcoma.
As you can imagine with so few cases the knowledge to treat and cure this is limited. Despite this, not once did he give up. He was willing to put him self through medical trials, agreed to have his surgery filmed so surgeons could learn from him. Rarely did he complain. All throughout his goal was to fight, to live and to help others.
His journey has inspired me to keep going no matter what. If you get knocked down you get right back up and never give up.
In April this year I applied to take part the London Marathon in his memory, through the charity SARCOMA UK.
I’ve been accepted!
It’s scary
It will be hard
But I WILL NOT give up.
He went through the hardest journey of his life that spanned 7 long years. If he could find the strength to do that then I know I have the strength to cross the finish line with him looking over me.
Over the next 8 months I will be asking for as much support and sharing his story, while fundraising to reach my goal to be able to help SARCOMA UK help others like my Dad so one day another family won’t have to face the devastating loss we have.
