24hr Wild Swim Relay: Shepperton 2025 · 7 June 2025 to 8 June 2025 · Start fundraising for this event

The challenge is simple. Gather a team of up to 8 swimmers and swim for an hour each, for 24 hours. It really doesn’t matter what your ability is. It’s not a race, no one is being timed or tracked. You swim as much as you want, as fast as you want.

Story

Last August, this June seemed a long way off... a good challenge I thought, swimming round a lake as part of a 24 hour relay. Pretty lights on the swim floats at night... Ahhh. And Team "Ladies of the Lake" sounds cool. There are eight in our team, so we will each swim for an hour, three times over the 24 hours. Now June seems very soon and I am a bit scared. But I have started swimming again, so that's a start. In the pool though. At some point I might have to try it outside. Brr.

The funds raised will go to Level Water, which provides 1-to-1 swimming lessons for children with disabilities. One lesson costs £15. I've always loved the water, as did Paddy, and we had hours of fun in the sea together as kids.

Please give what you can to support the team, to remember Paddy, and to help some more kids to love the water.
