Our Story
The Kenya Kesho School for Girls is a charity-run primary school managed and funded by The Kenya Kesho Trust (a registered charity in Kenya, The Netherlands and in The UK) operating in the Coast region since 2006. Our Founders, Sandra and Peter Ruysenaars, saw a need to construct a modern school for girls within Mshiu Village, Kwale County. Thereafter, The Kenya Kesho School for Girls was built and opened on 23rd September 2019 with the aim to offer young girls a unique opportunity by providing quality education, nutritious meals, clean water, clothing, psychosocial support, sports and art classes, computers and hands-on vocational training opportunities such as sewing and farming. Let us work together and create an environment that providesaccess to quality education and knowledge to 250 girls per year; whilst aiming to transcend poverty, childhood marriage and pregnancy, HIV/AIDS, and gender-based violence. Help our girls build self-esteem, work towards being academic high achievers and become exceptional young women who drive change in their communities.
