Story

Hi everyone,

I've been the fundraiser for Croydon University Hospital since 2021 and it's time for me to run a half marathon to help! I am in my mid 40s now, creaky and carrying way too many prosecco pounds! This will be a definite challenge.

It's a fascinating hospital and I've been lucky to get involved with lots of projects and see the difference that fundraising makes for staff and patients.

Sponsorship will go towards a charity project at the Hospital to create a bereavement area and garden to support families who have tragically lost a baby.

Sadly, every year 80 families at the Hospital experience the loss of a baby.

My daughters are my absolute world and I cannot imagine the trauma that these families have to endure.

The current garden is overgrown, tired and lacks weatherproof, comfortable seating. This has the potential to cause distress to bereaved families, who are seeking space away from the clinical environment in this outdoors space.

I know times are so tough right now so even a few pennies would be amazing.
